So, what’s it really like on campus? Where does everyone hang out? What do Austin Peay students do in their spare time?

APSU has more than 100 student organizations, including departmental clubs, honor societies, religious organizations, special interest groups, and fraternities/sororities. And they are ACTIVE. APSU’s chapter of the NAACP and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority registered voters. Sigma Chi led an effort to help Hurricane Katrina victims with money and supplies. And the Student Government Association annually hosts G.H.O.S.T., a safe trick-or-treat alternative for families.

The No. 1 student hangout on campus is the Morgan University Center. There, you’ll find all kinds of dining options to fit your taste, game rooms, a convenience store, post office and plenty of lounge areas where you can meet friends, plug in your laptop or study. And most of the campus is wireless, inside and out. So, you can access the Internet from virtually anywhere.

Located in Clarksville, Tenn., Austin Peay is one of the safest campuses in the state, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Since Clarksville is the youngest city in the state (median age is under 30), there’s plenty for college students to do here, or in Nashville, which is less than an hour away.

A mild climate with four distinct seasons, a central location and a low cost of living are just a few of the reasons more than 140,000 residents call Clarksville home.

Of course, there’s also Beachaven Vineyards and Winery’s Jazz on the Lawn, Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, Dunbar Cave State Natural Area, Historic Downtown Clarksville, Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, the Mid-South Jazz Festival, Riverfest, Rivers & Spires Festival, Governors Square Mall and the Roxy Regional Theatre.
